Easily one of Spain's most prolific artists, Pablo Picasso is M�laga's most famous son. Head to the corner of the Plaza de la Merced to visit the home where he was born, which has now been turned into Pablo R. Picasso Foundation - Birthplace Museum.

You can also visit the fairly new and incredibly interesting Picasso Museum of M�laga, where you can spend hours wandering through a fantastic collection of his works and even see Roman and Moorish city walls in the archaeological display beneath the museum which were unearthed during restauration works. Two of Picasso's heirs, his daughter-in-law Christine and his grandson Bernard Ruiz-Picaso, donated over 150 works from their private collection to open this museum in 2003. The museum follows the trajectory of Picasso's artistic development, with works ranging from early sketches to his signature Cubist masterpieces.
